First Law Productions is a children’s education and entertainment company that creates and produces content with problem-solving strategies for real world problems using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based thinking, play, and instruction. Our company centers the inclusion of diverse stories and examples within the STEAM community.

First Law Productions draws on the tenets of the first law of thermodynamics, which states energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can be transferred from one location to another and converted to and from other forms of energy. We believe that the energy we create and put out in the world, even in play, provides the ability to change one's self, inspire others, and create a more inclusive world that reflects love and the understanding that WE are the ones we have been waiting on to creating change from the ground up.
Our programming, products, and instructional techniques commit to inclusion of the key aspects of arts education which include critique, self-expression, and conveying meaning, which STEAM programs often forget to incorporate alongside problem-based approaches, the design-process, or hands-on experiences.
Our Story
Recognizing that despite the increased visibility of STEAM as a format for interdisciplinary education, problems exist on the levels of conceptualization, implementation, and diversification of learning materials. The learning outcomes for the “Arts” portion of STEAM by practitioners are often undefined or regulates the arts to a simple creative project. We are uniquely positioned to solve this problem because of our roles as educators, scientists, engineers, and MOTHERS, which gives us a unique view of the needs of parents and educators that desire a human-based approach to learning for the children in their lives.
